Is it possible to set fixed serial port names on the UPort 1610-8 & 1650-8 without them being automatically allocated when the unit is plugged in, or when the computer is booted?

Yes, the UPort 1600-8 Series features from Moxa's Fixed Based COM Mode allows you to set specific COM names on the host PC. Regardless of which UPort is plugged into the host, the COM port numbers for the UPort’s serial ports will be numbered sequentially starting with the initial COM port number that the user set.
