Moxa’s MGate MB3170 and MGate MB3270 gateways can integrate Modbus TCP with Modbus RTU/ASCII, without altering or modifying any existing RTU/ASCII architecture or software. Featuring a serial redirector function, the serial master can maintain direct access to serial slave devices through mapped serial ports. Allowing for the serial and TCP masters to access serial slaves simultaneously.
Moxa’s advanced serial-to-Ethernet Modbus gateways include two Ethernet ports simplifying the network wiring process. These dual Ethernet ports allow users to daisy chain multiple gateways together through RJ45 Ethernet cables, without the need for a separate Ethernet switch.
The MGate MB3170 range features additional variants that include 100BaseFX fibre ports, supporting transmission distances up to 4 km over for multi-mode such as MGate MB3170-M-SC and up to 40 km for the single-mode models MGate MB3170-S-SC. Having fibre Ethernet back-bone will provide more security on the data line as well as providing isolation and immunity against electromagnetic interference.
